Pratibha Tiwari is a remarkable woman from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. She has transformed her life from being a math teacher to becoming a successful agripreneur. Her journey began in 2016 when she started Bhumisha Organics. Pratibha’s mission is to promote organic farming and help farmers earn better incomes.

In India, the image of a farmer is often male. However, more women like Pratibha are stepping into farming roles. They are educated and passionate about agriculture. They are now leading their own farms and exploring organic methods. Pratibha is one of these inspiring women. She has trained over 2,000 farmers and turned her 15-acre farm into a thriving organic venture.

Pratibha discovered her passion for organic farming when she visited her in-laws’ home. There, she saw many farmers using chemicals for farming. She wanted to make a change. After attending workshops and seminars, she started her journey in organic farming. By 2019, she had converted her entire 50 acres of land to organic farming and received government certification.

Bhumisha Organics was created to support farmers. Many farmers struggle to sell their organic produce at fair prices. Pratibha aimed to create a platform for them. Her organisation helps farmers with training, marketing, and processing their products. Through Bhumisha Organics, farmers can sell their crops directly to customers, ensuring they receive better prices for their hard work.

Today, Bhumisha Organics has an annual turnover of over 3 crore rupees. It helps farmers not just from Madhya Pradesh but also from states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. Pratibha believes that organic products should be available at affordable prices. She wants to make healthy food accessible to everyone.

For farmers, Bhumisha Organics has been a game-changer. Pratibha supports them in choosing suitable crops based on their land size. For example, farmers with smaller plots can grow herbs or flowers that have high market demand. This strategy has helped many farmers double their incomes since joining Bhumisha.

Vishal Meena, a farmer associated with Bhumisha, shares his experience. He used to work in a corporate job but returned to farming. Initially, he used chemicals on his crops, but he soon realised the harm they cause. With the support of Bhumisha, he switched to organic farming. Now, he and other farmers grow crops on 500 acres of land together.

Pratibha also started a processing unit in 2020. This unit provides jobs to ten local women, helping them earn a steady income. She opened a store in Bhopal that sells over 70 types of organic products. These include pulses, spices, and herbs. The store serves over 150 families who rely on it for their grocery needs. Customers appreciate the quality of the products, and many prefer buying organic for health reasons.

Pratibha’s vision doesn’t stop here. She wants to open more stores in different cities. Her goal is to introduce more farmers to organic farming and expand the reach of Bhumisha Organics. Despite the challenges, Pratibha’s determination and hard work have made a significant impact on the lives of many farmers. She is not just a farmer; she is a leader, inspiring others to embrace organic farming.

In conclusion, Pratibha Tiwari is a beacon of hope for many farmers in India. Her journey from a teacher to a successful agripreneur shows that passion and dedication can lead to great change. With her efforts, she is helping farmers improve their livelihoods and promoting sustainable farming practices across the country.
