Madhya Pradesh to Promote Natural Farming with New Mandis Arrangements

In a recent event in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced exciting news for farmers. The state will set up separate arrangements in mandis for the procurement of natural and chemical crops. This initiative aims to support farmers who practice natural farming and make it easier for consumers to choose healthier options.

During the “Ek-Chaupal Prakritik Kheti Ke Naam” program, CM Yadav addressed the importance of natural farming. He noted that many people are becoming aware of the harmful effects of chemical farming. Yadav shared his personal experience, saying he has farmed without chemical fertilizers. He believes that the rise of chemical use is due to Western influence. By returning to traditional farming practices, he hopes to revive the use of natural methods that are kinder to the environment.

Yadav highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is rich in potential for natural farming. He directed the Agriculture Minister to create policies that support this type of farming, assuring full government backing for implementation. He emphasized the importance of cow-rearing in natural farming. Gaushalas, or cow shelters, are being set up to promote the use of cow-based products in farming. This practice aligns with the state’s goals to enhance agricultural yield while maintaining soil health.

Currently, the milk production in Madhya Pradesh stands at 9%, and the government aims to increase it to 25%. CM Yadav criticized the trend of promoting buffalo milk as more profitable than cow milk. He urged the public to appreciate and support indigenous cow milk, which he believes is valuable for both health and farming.

At the event, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat also spoke about the benefits of natural farming. He shared his own success story of increasing crop yields through natural methods on his five-acre farm. Devvrat explained that using chemical fertilizers can harm beneficial insects and reduce soil fertility. He encouraged farmers to adopt natural methods for a sustainable future.

The governors emphasized that nature balances itself without the need for chemical aids, just as forest trees thrive without fertilizers or irrigation. This natural method of farming is not only beneficial for crops but also for human health.

Many leaders, including Agriculture Minister Aidal Singh Kansana and local officials, were present at the program. They acknowledged the importance of natural farming as a treasure of knowledge that needs to be understood and embraced for a sustainable future.

The new arrangements in mandis will allow farmers who practice natural farming to have a dedicated space to sell their crops. This initiative is expected to ease the trading process and encourage more farmers to consider natural farming practices.

Overall, the event marked a significant step towards promoting sustainable agriculture in Madhya Pradesh. With the government’s support and public interest in natural farming growing, a healthier future for farming in the state appears promising.
