- Roots and Early Influences: Mandar grew up in Latur city but was drawn to rural life by a family-wide realization that the future demanded a more earth-friendly existence. Around a decade ago, his family began exploring alternatives to urban living, connecting with nearly 50 like-minded families to discuss sustainable lifestyles.
- Learning and Unlearning: To bridge the gap between theory and practice, Mandar spent 1.5 years on a farm in Gujarat, immersing himself in organic methods and the interconnectedness of education, health, and the environment. This hands-on experience deepened his understanding of holistic, earth-centric living.
- Return to Roots: Since 2010, Mandar has been practicing organic farming independently in Amgaon, Wardha. His journey has been marked by the courage to unlearn old habits, embrace physical labor, and continually strive for a better, more sustainable future.

- Food Forest: Mandar’s land features a diverse food forest of fruit trees, ensuring year-round nutrition and promoting biodiversity.
- Value Addition: He processes his own produce into products like Ambadi-based foods, whole wheat cookies, and Waigaon Turmeric Powder.
- Indigenous Cotton: Mandar processes organic, indigenous cotton into fabric, both for personal use and for sale, preserving traditional knowledge and promoting chemical-free textiles.
- Community Initiatives: He is an active participant in Beejotsav (a seed festival), a member of the Nirman Executive Team, and a coordinator for the Paani Foundation’s Water Cup-winning village project.
